 | | Pictured is one of the various trails that twists through the gardens. Many of them are wheelchair accessible. | The Dow Gardens, located at the corner of Eastman Avenue and W. St. Andrews St., was originally developed by the founder of The Dow Chemical Company: Dr. Herbert H. Dow in 1899. What makes The Dow Gardens unique from other gardens, is that visitors are allowed to walk almost anywhere they wish, to experience the gardens to their fullest. The unique paths and beautiful setup provide visitors with pleasant walks during any season. The Gardens offer many Display dates during the following times:
January through February—Witchhazel and indoor Orchids March through April—Crocus, Tulips and Daffodils April—Magnolias May—Crabapples May through June—Viburnum and Lilac May through July—Rhododendrons and Azaleas June and September—Roses June through August—Perennials July through September—Annuals October through November—Fall Color December—Poinsettias
 | | Snow transforms the gardens into a Winter Wonderland. | During the first week in December, The Gardens present A Christmas Walk and in the spring a butterfly festival. No matter what month or season, The Dow Gardens presents the beauty of nature in its fascinating form. The Gardens are open daily 9 a.m. to one hour before sunset (except major holidays).
